Spyderco Delica 4 FFG Issue
I took apart my Delica today so that I could stonewash the blade. Once it was completely stripped, I saw that one of the bronze phosphor bushings was slightly bent. Don’t know if it was the previous owner or Spyderco who bent the bushing. I also don’t think that it was me since I’ve never taken it apart before today. Hopefully I don’t have to put too much money into obtaining something so small. Be careful.
I’ve had the Rat-2 for a week or so now, and I’ve put it through some decent edc use. I’ve opened countless boxes and cut through a lot of cardboard. The cardboard was the stuff that really dulled it down. It dulled pretty quickly, but the aus 8 it has sharpened up very easily. When I first got the knife, I ran it through my 600, 800, 1000, and 2000 grit stones. After that, I took it to my strop that’s coated with Bark River’s green and black compound. After the cardboard, I skipped the stones and only took it to the strop, seeing that it didn’t have any serious issues, but that it was just a bit dull. The strop worked perfectly and took the blade back to where I like it. Also, in my earlier post, I said that the blade quickly deploys with some wrist and thumb action. Through my use or just practice, I’ve completely rid the deployment of any wrist movement. The blade’s very fast still with just thumb action.
